The EXCOR® Advantage: The EXCOR® ventricular assist device consists of one or two blood pumps, which are located outside the body. Regular pump inspections allow performance and safety checks to ensure a long-term support and reduce adverse events. It is possible to upsize or downsize the pump volume, if needed. It is a paracorporal system and this allows quick, non-surgical pump changes, whereas intracorporeal devices require a further operation.
